we are in the closing stages of our 2nd to last phase of our reimagining project for our youth space and youth program. its been a longer road than i hoped but its coming together nicely. today we received our new chairs, which i'm stoked about. i wasn't so stoked having to haul them into the building and up three flights of stairs, but its hard to get help at 8am in the morning on short notice. its done now & my sweat is starting to clear away. off now to get photos for our walls. we have black & white gallery going in and then will also have photos from our last year of ministry.
ministry 2.0 : tech stuff for church folk
tomorrow i am getting up early and heading south of town to participate in the ministry 2.0 training & workshops. if you are in the nashville/middle tennessee area you should come join too. there are still spaces available to jump in. those outside of town. i'll probably be live blogging what i can, much like i did for barcamp nashville.

missional church : the exhaustive resource
jr woodward of 'dream awakener' has posted an exhaustive (honestly, its an amazing) collection of brain trust on the missional church. i'm privy to have a link in there for my notes spent with scot mcknight & his missional Jesus seminar back in april.
you should definitely bookmark his post. i know i have.
lets all talk to the prez : over running obama
i don't know about you. i've been getting a slew of emails asking me to email president elect obama about some of the things he has promised in his campaign or things to consider. i suppose after the campaign he ran, an open source campaign, he is more accessible than any candidate before. or at least it seems that way. so it is no surprise that our methodist bishops council has sent president elect obama an official letter.
join with the chorus of United States citizens and international
partners in congratulating you on your election as the 44th President
of the United States of America," the letter opened.
"We applaud your willingness to articulate a vision of change for the
United States that is based on hope for all the people, especially
those who are disinherited and disenfranchised. We are also encouraged
by your desire to construct a landscape for the United States that is
inclusive of all people. We affirm your desire for a more peaceful and
just world."
i hope this letter fares better than the last bishop's letter to the president.
