We have had a great summer at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church welcoming our hosted Week of Hope youth mission teams with some great concerts by some fabulously talented artisans. Last night was no exception with Phil Stacey coming to share his talents. My favorite part, other than taking photos with Brooks, just happened to be what I caught on video with Phil singing his ‘prayer song’, which he started singing before his American Idol performances and continues today, “Hold Me Jesus” by Rich Mullins. It hasn’t been my prayer song for quite some time, but I remember this being a song sung during many summer missions driving the appalachian mountain roads and then on the interstates towards home. It is a beautiful song, and he sings it beautifully.
