there are some voices and songs that i connect with and i rarely figure out why. jackson browne is one of those artists and "the load out / stay" is one of those songs. maybe it was the idea that i was a good singer when i sang along with his songs. maybe the depths of his songwriting i never understood, but there was still a resonating with the soul. i think the connection with this song is the appreciation for the people behind the scenes of a performance..
Jackson Browne is long-time favorite of mine as well. Stay was recorded live at a concert venue near me, and I was there (with my parents!) at that show.
