barbara has a thorough posting on how to strategically bring in new inbound links. there are some things in there that i hadn’t thought about, some i didn’t know i benefited from. a few i’ll ponder further
6. Search Google for blogs that cover a topic you’re writing about and link to them.
8. Create a way to regularly invite bloggers to send links to you
9. Invite others to guest blog – they’ll promote you on their site and link back to you
i might add, get to know people. barbara i met when i was in chicago for a district training event. yup, that means she’s a good methodist gal, along with her being a social media & pr expert. which makes her super cool in my book. so i am more apt to follow her and link to her.
since i’m bringing in the church.. do you see any parallels found in social media etiquette to welcome in new interest to your church community?

Dearest,
I am still waiting on the completion of you pedicure series.
I think we need to do something at teh Congress on Evanglism. How do we start it up? You and Jay did such a good job last time…
Even if it’s just an additional hotel room we can use as a gathering place, I would love to do some sort of SOMETHING there.
I’m in a better financial position now…. I could pitch in some moneys.

Super cool? Yes, I will quote you on that!
Will also stumble this post and mention on twitter.
RE: church/social media – last night our 16 year old son said a youth group in Ohio is raising funds to bring him out for a visit. Their youth group met ours on an ASP project. How do they keep up? Facebook, of course. Although I think they were just kidding about the fund-raising, I could tell that this is a real relationship, just like the one that’s still going with the youth group they met from Minnesota last year. While this doesn’t necessarily answer your question about bringing new people in, it does tell me that church has a huge place in my teen’s Facebook/life. That’s one reason we’re working on amping up our church’s local Facebook presence.
