this is.. interesting.. odd.. a history of war, displayed with food. it took me a bit to figure out the food symbolism, but i am not having a very smart night. via bob

outsiders view of the united methodist church
i thought this was interesting.. views from the outside on the methodist church. some will make you scream, both in agreement and in disagreement. one thing, i’m not sure these folks are as smart as they think they are..
update: john has posted on this and has some good commenting as well
do you know darfur
a church member sent me an email correspondence of his. this lady was doing some asking about Darfur. he knew enough to know something. her response
At least you are aware. I asked three people today what was Darfur. One said a character in Star Wars. Another just said a character. Another said a character in the movie about Transformers.
If we wanted their oil, everyone would know about Darfur.
i like the idea of putting a transformers character with the name Darfur. however, the literal translation being "home of the fur" (a tribe of people) i suppose it would be one of the planets in star wars or maybe where we send all the transformers.
get educated on darfur. save darfur
national eating disorder week
thanks to the coolmomscare for the highlight of this week’s awareness designation. gives me something to get up to date on.
i don’t know about you, but this is all too prevalent in my life. from college until now. two of my youth girls have gone into the hospital for their eating disorder last fall (’06). one entered an intensive treatment facility because of it… and those are just the cases that are more public that i can elude to. but it isn’t just a young girls thing. if anyone has seen "thin" (which i highly recommend) would know.
in this video you can see polly’s struggles. as with anyone, this disorder is a constant struggle. it got the best of her and she recently committed suicide.
